OUR STORY

Middelwater Farm is situated just off the N1 on the R30 Brandfort Road (GPS coordinates, -28.914278, 26.326005), approximately 25km outside of Bloemfontein.

Jacques and Marica Strydom bought the farm in November 2017, with the vision of sharing this farm and farm life with Bloemfonteiners and people passing by.

Since 2017 the “Be Human” project on Middelwater Farm has developed offering visitors different accommodation, activity and venue options thus sharing the farm and farm life with Bloemfonteiners and people passing by.”

BLOEMFONTEIN VENUE OPTIONS

Be Human – Middelwater Farm, has a variety of different venues and facilities available, making a wide variety of different style functions and events possible and making hosting small to very large groups of people possible.

With all the available options, Be Human – Middelwater Farm is the ideal venue to host functions like Weddings, Corporate Functions, Birthday Parties, Hen Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Kitchen Teas, Engagement Parties, Team Buildings, Live Shows, Kiddies Parties, Baby Showers, School Camps, Matric Farewells, Reunions, Livestock Auctions, Church Services, Funerals, Baptisms, Festivals, Conferences, Exhibitions, Trade Shows, Outdoor Events like MTB races, Trail Run races and OCR races.

BLOEMFONTEIN ACCOMMODATION

This varies from the luxury Middelwater Farm Hotel to a self-catering Backpackers (Be Backpackers).

MIDDELWATER FARM HOTEL 
The Middelwater Farm Hotel is situated on the farm and has 3 luxury rooms available, each with the most beautiful views. Breakfast is included in the accommodation rate. Lunch and dinner are optional extras and are available on request. The stunning kitchen area in the hotel can be used to host cooking demos.

BE BACKPACKERS 
The Be Backpackers is located on Be Human – Middelwater Farm. The backpackers is self-catering, but guests have the option of enjoying a drink and meals at Strys & Ys Restaurant and Bar located adjacent to the backpackers.  Guests can also buy braai pack meals and wood there.

BLOEMFONTEIN ACTIVITIES 

GAME DRIVES & PREDATOR TOURS 
A wide variety of wild animals and predators, such as Buffalo, Oryx, Springboks, Giraffes, Zebras, Ostriches, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards and many more can be viewed on our Game Drives and Predator Tours.  Our national bird, The Blue Crane, can also be spotted.

GUIDED ADULT QUAD BIKE TOURS 
Adults can go on a guided 4×4 quad bike tour through Middelwater Farm.  This guided tour is approximately 1 hour.  It will start with a 15 minute briefing by our experienced guide as well as a test ride to familiarize yourself with our automatic quad bikes. We have six automatic 4×4 quad bikes, which can accommodate up to 12 people per tour (2 per quad bike).

KIDDIES 
Be Human – Middelwater Farm is heaven on earth for children, as there is an abundance of activities for children to enjoy during our Saturday Family Markets (strictly between 09h00 – 16h00).
• There is an Animal Farm Hotel where children can learn more about farm animals such as donkeys, ponies, chickens, pigs, sheep etc.
• There are six different Merry Go Round rides, which includes planes, trains, horses, dinosaurs, cars & swings. Please note that the Merry Go Round has a weight limit.
• There is a kiddie’s quad bike trail fitted with car tyres for protection.
• Mini electric car rides are available.
• Kiddies can enjoy trips on the Human Express around the market area.
• Kiddies can enjoy rides on miniature ponies.
• JUMPING CASTLE / WATER SLIDE
• There are plenty of jungle gyms for the kiddies to play on.
• There is also a trampoline, sandpit and splash pool for the kiddies to enjoy.

OUTDOOR / BE ACTIVE 
Our farm has a permanent obstacle course which has been completed by Free State OCR Representatives. The OCR course as well as trail run routes and MTB routes are available should you want to host an outdoor event or race. Be Human – Middelwater Farm is the perfect venue to host outdoor or fitness events, as we have different outdoor facilities available.
